Hi LTAV Families,
It may still be summer, but we’re hard at work preparing for the 2025–26 school year—and we’re so excited to finally share what we’ve been working on: our new class schedule is here!
At LTAV, our students and families are at the heart of everything we do. This year, two words kept surfacing during our planning sessions: flexibility and connection. With those goals in mind, we’ve made some thoughtful changes that we think you’re going to love.
See the attached flyers for a visual breakdown of classes as well as a calendar with all Session & Camp dates as well as Holidays that will be observed throughout the year.
Our classes are color coded by grade…

🗓 What’s New?
We’ve updated both our session structure and pricing for the upcoming year:
-
Academic sessions will now be 6 weeks long, followed by an optional Learning Adventures Camp week.
-
This change adjusts our traditional 32-week session calendar to 30 weeks of structured learning.
-
Learning Adventures Camp: We’re adding 5 weeks of themed camp experiences, with full-day and full-week options available.
-
Families who participate in all 5 sessions and 5 camps will enjoy a full 35-week LTAV year!
📚 Academic Sessions: Focused Learning
-
Sessions will remain subject-based and often center around a unifying theme for the full six weeks.
-
Some subjects, like drama, will span multiple sessions and build toward a larger goal, such as a performance.
-
Others—such as culinary arts and book clubs—offer more flexibility. Each session covers a distinct piece of the overall skillset, so while students will benefit from taking multiple sessions, they can still enjoy and succeed in a single session without needing to complete them all.
-
We’ll be providing more guidance soon to help you plan ahead—highlighting which classes are ideal for long-term participation and which are designed to allow students to drop in and out with ease.
🏕 Learning Adventure Camps: Connection & Creativity
-
Camp weeks will offer mixed-age curriculum centered on one engaging theme.
-
These weeks also coincide with school-wide events, such as drama productions and open houses.
-
Camps are a great opportunity to explore something new, take a break between sessions, or reconnect with friends.
💸 New Discount Program
We’re excited to introduce a multi-class discount program!
More details on how this program works will be announced soon.
💡 More Flexibility for Families
Our new structure gives you the freedom to design your ideal year:
-
Want to try something short before committing? Join a camp week!
-
Prefer a consistent schedule? Register for both sessions and camps.
-
Planning a vacation? Use a camp week instead of missing part of a session.
-
Need a longer holiday break? Skip a camp week before winter or spring break.
-
Miss old friends from last year? Reconnect during a camp week!
🤝 More Connection for Students
-
We’re expanding social activities like homeschool hangouts, movie nights and field trips.
-
Camp weeks foster leadership and peer mentorship—older students can take on guiding roles while younger ones build confidence with support.
-
We’ll be using the Band app to improve communication among parents, teachers, and students. Band is a secure, private platform for creating group connections and staying in touch outside the classroom.
👩🏫 Staff Updates
"The only constant in life is change." – Heraclitus
In a program like ours, where staff form deep and lasting connections with students and families, it's always difficult when life leads someone away from LTAV. Transitions like these are never easy, and I know many of our students are still processing the reality of beginning a new school year without Ms. Rorrer and Mrs. Fellows.
Unfortunately, I also need to share that when you review the class schedule attached to this email, you’ll notice another familiar name is missing—Mrs. Joy. As much as she would love to be actively involved in planning this exciting new year (and in many ways, she still is behind the scenes), she has needed to pursue full-time employment. While we don’t yet know what the future holds, we’re hopeful that she’ll continue to support LTAV at events and possibly offer tutoring during the year.
Each of these amazing educators has left a lasting mark on our program, and we are deeply grateful for their passion, time, and dedication to our homeschool community.
🌟 Looking Ahead with Excitement
While these goodbyes are bittersweet, I’m thrilled to share some very exciting news about the year ahead:
-
Miss Karrer is joining us full-time this year! If your student had the chance to take one of her classes at the end of last year, you already know what passion and enthusiasm she brings to our team. We are so lucky to have her with us in an expanded role.
-
Ms. Denise is back! After offering online classes last year while finishing her degree in France, she’s ready to take on even more classes in-person. Her creativity and unique global perspective continues to enrich our program. She is especially looking forward to supporting our homeschool students who have chosen French as their foreign language!
-
Big news for our Drama and Choir students!
I know many of you have been wondering what the future of our Drama program would look like without Ms. Rorrer. I was, too. Just when I was beginning to really worry, the perfect opportunity came along.
We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Sadie Gibson as our new Drama teacher! She’s already buzzing with ideas and can’t wait to begin building something special with our talented students.
And the excitement doesn’t stop there—Lindsay Gibson will also be joining us to teach Voice Classes! Who knows… maybe Musical Theatre is in our future? 🎭🎶 -
Keep your eye out on our Staff Page as their Pictures and Bios will be posted soon!
Thank you all for your continued support, patience, and trust as we grow and evolve. Change is hard—but it also brings new opportunities, and I can't wait to see what this year has in store for our amazing LTAV community.
💙 A Note to Gorman Families
We’ve received an outpouring of interest in our program following the closure of AVRC. Our hearts go out to the Gorman families who are facing this unexpected transition. My own family has been personally affected—my husband was among those impacted—so I understand how uncertain and difficult this time can be.
Please be assured that we are doing everything we can to support displaced students. We are actively adjusting our program to better serve the homeschooling community in the Antelope Valley and beyond.
📬 If You’ve Reached Out...
I’ve been working hard to keep up with emails, messages, and calls while finalizing our new schedule. If you haven’t received a reply yet, I sincerely apologize—please send me a quick follow-up email. I’d be happy to answer your questions or schedule a call to chat about your family’s needs.
📋 A Note to Our Waitlisted Families
Last—but certainly not least—I want to personally thank our waitlisted families for your patience and continued interest in LTAV.
We’ll be reaching out to you soon after Priority Registration closes, giving you the opportunity to enroll before registration opens to new families. Our goal is to accommodate as many of you as possible!
To help make room, 28 brave first graders have graduated and are venturing into the “wild jungles” of the 2nd–5th grade classes—making space for your students to join us.
Thank you again for your patience and understanding. We’re truly looking forward to welcoming you into the LTAV family!
We are deeply grateful for your trust and partnership. Thank you for being a part of our growing LTAV family. We can’t wait to see what this year brings!
Sincerely,
Pamela Evola
