2nd-5th Confident Reading 2023/24 S 4

Service Description

This is a one session-long class (8 weeks) in which we will read one (or more as time allows) novel together, learn age-level appropriate analysis of character, setting, plot devices, dialogue, vocabulary, etc. In addition, we will draw/color reactions to the story, journal thoughts, and write our own short stories and/or research topics related to the novel. Mainly, we want to learn to love reading! Your student will like this class if they are strong readers (on grade level or above)! Possible novels (TBD based on ages of registered students) - Little House in the Big Woods, Sign of the Beaver, Number the Stars, Holes, Because of Winn Dixie, Hatchet, etc.
